Protest the Sewer Rate Increase
November 2024 - the majority of Grover Beach voters REPEALED a sewer & water rate increase that would double rates within 4 years. Immediately thereafter the City began the process to raise sewer rates again, despite the vote of the citizens, and despite 2,000 protest letters, and despite citizen discoveries of rate increases begun weeks before allowed, failure of the city to convene tax oversight committee meetings for several years, and failure to repay $1.1m loans from the wastewater fund to the general fund. Print & complete the form below to send your protest to City Hall.
Please keep checking back for more information on Petition Parties in the Park and opportunities to sign recall petitions and the initiative to repeal water & sewer rate increases.

The first step in a recall is to gather a state-mandated number of signatures of "proponents" who support circulating a formal recall. They must first circulate a notice of intention to submit a formal recall petition with their reasons for recall, serve it on the recallees, post it in a local newspaper, give the recallees a chance to respond, and then submit the proposed formal recall petition to the city clerk for approval or changes.
